I’ve finished our Trillian and Zaphod costumes and have added them to my portfolio!
So Trillian and Zaphod ended up being a lot of fun!
We did have a handful of people who were excited to see Hitchhiker’s Guide costumes, including one very drunk person who was excited to see people from “the fish movie” and one who told he had a Hitchhiker’s Guide themed 42nd birthday party (so doing that).
We didn’t get a whole lot of pictures of them since we generally wore them late at night – though I did wear Trillian for a longtime on Monday and we did a small photoshoot in the hamster tubes. The first night we wore them I made myself a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster that was a bit TOO strong so pics were not fore-front of my mind, LOL.
On Zaphod I need to tighten up the hook and eyes – the top one was too close and wouldn’t stay closed and i kept having to safety pin it. Also he lost a belt buckle. On Trillian I discovered I hadn’t completely finished sewing the patch down LOL I may also get a wig for the future. I thought in the dark of the hotel my hair would pass all right, but as you can see in the daylight pics coming up – it definitely doesn’t.
I can’t wait to wear it at GMX again though. It was SO hot at Dragoncon but it’ll probably be more comfortable at a fall con 🙂
